Aloe Vera vs. Acne Scars: The Truth
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and go back to my post about Aloe Vera. You guys remember what Aloe Vera is right? No? That’s fine! I’ll just give a brief recap over it!
Aloe Vera
It’s a green succulent plant that is found mainly in the tropics and is grown on the ground. It is mainly used for burns and scars, but it is also really good for your health. It is a really natural plant that can cause no harm. If you were the cut the plant leaves in half, you would find a clear gel. That gel is what others have been saying is good for us.
Now you know what Aloe Vera is. But I also said that I was going to go a challenge with Aloe Vera. Let me tell you what that challenge was.
The Challenge
We obviously had heard many things and the many benefits of using Aloe Vera. But we didn’t really know if it was really the truth or not. We didn’t know if it could actually cure the burns or the scars on our face or body. So I decided that I would do a six-week challenge where I would use Aloe Vera on my face, since I have a lot of acne scars, to see if I could see the scars start to fade away. Just to let you know, I would rub the Aloe Vera gel on my face at night about 30min-45mins before going to bed.

Now, let’s talk about the progress…
Week 1
I wasn’t able to see results right away. Obviously, since this is being treated very naturally, it would take a little longer to see the results. However, I did start to notice how smooth my face was feeling. My acne was still there, the scars were still there, but my skin was feeling softer.
Week 2
The acne scars that were new and fresh on my skin were starting to slowly fade away. It wasn’t that obvious, but I did notice a light little fade. But other than that, nothing else really had happened. My skin was feeling soft though, that hadn’t changed.
Week 3
I didn’t really notice a difference between this week and week 2. I did have a few breakouts on my face, but it’s hormonal reasons so that is okay. But scarring hadn’t really changed as much. However, my mom did tell me that my scars were really fading away. Maybe I couldn’t notice it, but others were. Maybe that’s a good sign, right?
Week 4
I did notice scars fading a little bit, but I didn’t really see that big of a difference. However, I had many people coming up to me and telling me that they are noticing a huge difference in my skin. That it seemed brighter, fresher, and more hydrated. It seemed as if the Aloe Vera gel was making my skin really healthy.
Week 5
Now, this week. This week was the week that I truly saw some differences in my skin. I did notice that the huge breakout I had on my cheek was fading away. Instead of being really dark and bright pink, it had become really light pink and it had also gotten smaller. That’s a really good sign.
Week 6
The last week. This week basically wrapped up the whole journey with my Aloe Vera. And let me tell you, CONSISTENCY IS KEY. You have no idea how much patience it took me to complete the 6 weeks. But it was really worth it.
This is my after picture:
As you can see, my scars have really started to diminish. This proves that if you stay consistent and stay motivated than you truly can the results that you want.
Maybe you should give it a try and let me know what your results were and if it helped you or not!
